Kuwait officially known as the State of Kuwait is an oil-rich country on the edge of the Arabian Sea bordering Iraq and Saudi Arabia. It has a population of 4.2 million with 1.3 million are Kuwaiti nationals constitutes of 30% of the population, whereas the 2.9 million are the expatriates or the Diasporas from countries mainly from India, Palestine, Pakistan etc.  From 2001 to 2009 Kuwait was the highest ranked country for the Human Development complex. Kuwait has the 6th largest oil reserves. Kuwaiti Dinar is the most valued currency in the world for a number of years. Kuwait is the fourth richest country in the world with the GDP of more than 73,000.Kuwait unlike many other gulf countries Kuwait has empowered its women and given them right to vote and even run in elections.

The number of Pakistanis living in Kuwait is about 150,000 and this figure has not increased for the past 5 years since they have imposed a ban on Pakistanis for due to the reason of terrorism back home in Pakistan. Mainly countries try to relax their immigration laws but Kuwait has done the opposite. So the Pakistanis working in Kuwait have been working there for more than 5 years at least. Every now and then we see hope of Kuwait lifting the ban which they renewed back in 2014. However there have been reports of illegal migrants to Kuwait as home servants and sex workers but it is under the cover and both the governments are yet to be taken a solid action. Pakistanis who are legally working there already have access to renew their visa, even their spouses and children are denied for the visiting visas. One can for the best as these bans don’t turn out to be fruitful both for the countries and it only makes things worse as we have seen that many Pakistanis along with Indians  and other south Asian countries are trying move their illegally hoping to earn some money for their loved ones back in home.
