PAKISTAN STANDS BY PALESTINE
LAHORE, Jan. 11: The Jamaat e Islami chief Syed Munawar Hasan, said that the Palestinians were fighting for the liberation of Al-Quds and the entire Muslim Ummah stood with them in this mission. Muslims and all those who talk of peace and justice must not forget the sufferings of people in Gaza.
The hearts of the Pakistani people throbbed with the Gaza residents while the Muslims rulers were worse than the Americans for being slaves by generations, he said while addressing a big rally staged by the JI at Multan Road in support of the Gaza Muslims.
“We don’t talk of wiping out the US from the world map but we also can’t tolerate the US occupy our house and dictate us”, he said.
Those afraid of Washington should just see the Super Power facing defeat at the hands of Afghans and its technology helpless in Kabul and Qandhar, he added.
He called for activating the OIC and the Muslim rulers raising their voice in support of the Palestinians to stop Israel from construction the security wall.
Syed Munawar Hasan said the Israeli brutalities with the backing of the US were on the increase and life had been made miserable for the 1.5 million Muslims in Gaza. Unfortunately, he said, all the Muslim rulers were slaves of Washington and were crazy of the Western way of life. In Pakistan, the rulers had introduced secular system and turned the country into a torture cell through military operation against its own people.
The JI chief however said, the US could not complete its plan for this region covering China, Iran, India and the Middle East by ignoring Pakistan. However, he said, the NRO affected Pakistani rulers were unable to take advantage of the strategic importance of the country.
Talking to some of the participants in the rally, the people were disgusted and frustrated at the apathy and sorry state of affairs of the other political parties and their leaders who showed no concern for the Muslim cause. Some were very critical of Nawaz Sharif and his party who always hoodwinked the people in the name of Islam.
The treatment metted out to George Galloway, the British Parlimentarian by the Egyptian authorities was also sharply critisised. George Galloway is shaking the conscience of the world and attacking fiercely all those who are behind the killings of the innocent lives in Gaza.
Some neutrals also said that any such rallies must be presented as all parties affairs so as to give a strong message to the world showing our unity and concern for a just cause.
